I hope your new year is filled with blessings and light. I am still working on my spring festival schedule and will post that as soon as I hear about acceptance.
Just some thoughts:
TRUTH: Most people that are buying goat milk or other handmade products are looking for a more healthy alternative.
PLEASE READ THE INGREDIENTS LABEL. Yes, some are back at it and calling their melt and pour soap bases "Handmade". While they buy a base and melt it, add fragrance/ essential oils, and maybe even colorants, pour it into a mold and wrap it; Is it really "Handmade"?
"Handmade" is not regulated and is open to interpretation, unfortunately. There is a famous on TV company that still proclaims they are making their products at the farm. When you can make "only 3000 sets for their closest "neighbors"" I have lots of questions...
The problem with these melt and pour bases is that most are not any better for your skin or health than the junk at the stores. Take into consideration the following label recently given to me.
Other than containing sulfates (hormone disruptors), it also contains propylene glycol. Propylene glycol is the active ingredient in anti-freeze. She was sold this bar as "Handmade and Natural" and purchased this to use on her infant son. Please....NO. All of the pre-made bases (melt and pour) use goat milk powder, not fresh goat milk.
Goat milk powder is made from goat milk but is pasteurized not raw, which eliminates the nourishing benefits of raw goat milk. Also, after much research, there is no plant in the United States that dehydrates goat milk, so where is this coming from?
I am a "science nerd", always have been. In fact, I drive people crazy with my research. I am proud of this distinction. I need to know what ingredients are, what they do, and what are the side effects and manufacturing practices of all the ingredients.
Below is a picture of my label that includes the ingredients.
I bet you know everything that is in my soap. 60-80% of anything placed on your skin gets absorbed and into the bloodstream in the first 60 seconds. Your skin is your largest organ, phthalates are hormone disruptors, I make sure that all my fragrances are phthalate FREE.
Where does the goat milk come from? My herd of healthy, happy, award winning goats.
If you ever have any questions about my products please do not hesitate to contact me. I appreciate your support and look forward to seeing some of you at a festival soon!!
Happy day! Shannon
